Not Sure What You Have?

That's completely normal — we'll help identify your treatment type and pigment during your consultation.

WHY THIS ISN'T THE SAME AS REGULAR TATTOO REMOVAL

A real risk worth knowing about — and the honest full picture

Permanent makeup pigments — especially flesh-toned, pink, and white shades — often contain titanium dioxide or iron oxide. When treated with a laser, these specific pigments can sometimes shift color instead of simply fading — appearing temporarily warmer, grayish, reddish, orange, or yellow at different stages. In some cases, this can result in true darkening, a documented reaction known clinically as paradoxical darkening. It's not common with every pigment, but it's a real, well-established risk with these specific ones — and it's exactly why permanent makeup removal deserves a different approach than a standard tattoo. A color shift during treatment isn't automatically a sign something has gone wrong; it means the pigment is responding to the laser, and your plan may be adjusted based on what we observe.

That's why every client starts with a small test spot

before we ever treat a full area — this lets us see exactly how your specific pigment responds before committing to your full brow, lip, or liner. It's an extra step, and we take it every time.

REMOVAL VS FADING

You don't always need Complete Micro-blading Removal

Fading & Correction

Lighten an overly dark brow, soften an outdated shape, reduce uneven pigment, or fade a previous application before a new PMU procedure — sometimes less pigment is exactly the right goal.

Complete Removal

A full reset, whether you're moving away from permanent makeup entirely or preparing for a fresh application with a new artist.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Microblading Removal Frequently Asked Questions Before You Book

Is microblading removal safe?

Yes, When considering the removal of permanent eyebrow makeup, the pigment itself matters just as much as the laser technology. At A-One, we evaluate the color, depth, age, and treatment history of your brows before treatment. Using Candela PicoWay® technology and carefully selected treatment settings, we customize the approach to your individual skin and pigment characteristics. This careful process allows us to focus on effective pigment reduction while prioritizing the health of the surrounding skin.

Does microblading removal hurt?

Yes & No, Comfort levels vary from person to person. Most clients describe the sensation as brief snaps or small pulses during treatment. We use integrated cooling and a controlled treatment approach to help make laser eyebrow tattoo removal as comfortable as possible.

How many sessions are needed to remove microblading?

There's no universal number — it depends on pigment type, density, depth, color, age, and prior touch-ups or previous removal attempts and how your skin responds. Some clients may notice meaningful fading after the first one or two treatments, while others require additional sessions. During your consultation, we'll evaluate your brows and provide realistic expectations for your microblading removal journey.

Can eyebrow tattoo removal make the pigment darker?

Yes or No, Certain cosmetic pigments can shift color or darken when exposed to laser energy. This is exactly why we use a cautious, test-spot approach with every client rather than treating a full area right away.

Why can eyebrows look red, orange, yellow, or gray during removal?

Cosmetic eyebrow pigments can contain multiple pigment components and undertones. As darker pigment begins to fade, underlying colors may become more noticeable, which can sometimes create temporary red, orange, yellow, or other color shifts. This does not necessarily mean the treatment has failed. Your response will be evaluated at each stage so that future treatments can be adjusted appropriately.

Will laser microblading removal damage my eyebrow hair?

Protecting the natural eyebrow hair is an important consideration when treating cosmetic pigment. Our treatment approach is designed with the surrounding skin and brow hair in mind, using carefully selected settings based on your individual case. Because every person responds differently, we'll discuss potential risks and appropriate aftercare during your consultation.

Can you fade microblading instead of completely removing it?

Yes. Microblading fading can be an excellent option when complete removal isn't the goal. Some clients want to soften an existing brow so they can improve its shape, color, or symmetry, while others want to prepare for a future permanent makeup procedure. Your treatment plan can be customized around your desired end result.

Can I get new microblading after laser removal?

Possibly, but timing matters — your skin needs to fully heal, and sufficient fading may be needed first. Tell us if you're planning new PMU so we can plan accordingly.

Can I remove only part of my eyebrow tattoo?

In some cases, yes — targeted fading or partial removal is discussed based on your desired final shape.

Correcting or removing scalp micropigmentation? We treat blue-green discoloration, hairline correction, and full removal with the same PicoWay technology.

Removing a body tattoo instead? Standard body tattoos use different ink than cosmetic pigment, so they're treated with our full laser tattoo removal approach, built around your ink, size, and goals.
